Wildlife Forensics

Driven by a keen interest in merging scientific expertise with a dedication to biodiversity conservation, we provide law enforcement agencies with forensics services to aid the protection and preservation of wildlife worldwide. We offer genotyping services to governmental and other organisations for scientific research, species management and conservation concerns.

The National Wildlife Forensics Facility (WildFor) is located at the Natural History Museum of Denmark, University of Copenhagen. The facility is a non-profit laboratory; the fees we charge for sample analysis go into reagents, staff costs and research programs.

Genotyping services

We routinely analyse biological samples and, whenever possible, determine individual, species and geographical origin using the most advanced biological forensic tools. Services include species barcoding, pedigree analysis and population genetic analysis.
